Tulip Festival
The Tulip Festival is held every year between September and October in Monbulk up in Mount Danden ong . Every year it is getter better and bigger with different entertainments for each different day.
The pies were good and the pastry were nice and fluffy. Yum!
Last Saturday, we went to the show after being away for over 8 years. The day was a beautiful bright day and there was not a cloud in the sky. All you see is blue sky. Even though there were no clouds, it was not hot. That day entertainment highlight was “Food, Wine and Jazz Band”.
Red, yellow, pink, white, orange, purple tulips
More Tulips
Are they not beautiful?
Food stall, picnic grounds, windmills
Wine tasting, old restored engines on show
Jazz bands, flowers, wine tasting
Meat pies, glorious meat pies
There were wine tasting, cheese tasting and 2 jazz bands to entertain us.
On the way back we dropped into Olinda for the meat pies. This place has won awards for their meat pies. We have been to Olinda many time and never had the opportunity to try the pies because there is always a long queue of people. This weekend was the footy final weekend and most of the people were either at the footy in the city or glued to the TV with beers in their hands.More Tulips

these photos bring nostalgia to me! many many years ago when I was still studying in Sydney, we took a trip to Canberra to see the Floral Festival. lots of tulips then too, and a whole lot more. ain't nothing like seeing beautiful, colourful flowers in full bloom on a lovely Spring day. :)
