Christmas & the holidays

Other than attending church on Christmas Day, Christmas was quiet and celebrated on low key. Since we could not meet up in Jindabyne for the holiday, Maureen's sister and her hubby drove down to Sydney for the holiday. We had a Christmas dinner on Christmas eve with Maureen's Sisters, brothers and a friend while my own sisters had their own celebration with their friends. Dinner was nothing special with roast turkey, leg of ham, salad, cold prawns, butter prawns, curry chicken, stirred fried vegetables followed by cakes and ice cream.

Christmas day after church we drove to the city. It was a nice drive, so little traffic and parking was not a problem at all. We drove to see a 2 bedroom apartment that was for sale on behalf of a nephew who will be migrating over after Chinese New Year. It centrally located in the city opposite the children hospital and walking distance to Melbourne university. After which we went to Footscray for beef noodle lunch. This noodle place is at the corner of Hopkins and Dalmahoy street. The soup is clear and nice with no MSG.

Boxing day was a quiet one. We went out for lunch with my Sydney BIL's friend. They were old school mate and have plenty of catching up to do. After lunch we adjourned to the friend's house for coffee and tea. While we we there this friend's mother-in law had a fall in the bathroom. She is old and frail. Luckily she was fine. Every now and then she will have fainting spell but the doctors could not find anything wrong with her.
Shopping centres were packed with people going for after Christmas Sales. It is so hard to find parking and you have to circle like a vulture with eagle eyes patiently waiting to pounce as soon as someone leaves. Temper do flare as the people battle for parking space. Well, we did not get anything much at the sales.
