Lygon Street

Spring season and I have a love hate affair. I love it because the days are longer and brighter but it also a time of irritating hay fever. With a stuff nose, last Saturday evening, we drove into the Inner Melbourne to the suburb of Carlton. This suburb is different from the other suburbs. The enticing aroma of pastas and pizzas in the air brings out the Italian in you.

Pizza's half eaten. Too paiseh to take pics, niece took the pics.

Lygon Street in Carlton is a must see place. This street is lined with Italian restaurants with one or two Malaysian, Indian and Thai restaurants in between. It is favourite haunt for tourists and foreign students because of the reasonable pricing, good atmosphere, the crowd, the good food and cheap wines. Little wonder this place is called little Italy.

The only catch is parking. We went early, left at 5pm and manage to get a nice parking space. It you are late you have to park far away and walk. Well, it would not be too bad after all. Why? After a large hearty meal, you need to burn some of the fat off. Hmmm, cough, cough.

Ice Cream

We had a good time and hope to do it again.
