In Memory Of Mary Morgan
We came to know Mary Morgan when we first attended Nottinghill Chapel. Mary Morgan was one of the few that made us welcome in the church. Every Sunday Mary would sit with us at the church service. This went on for 13 years until we left for another church. Though we have left the church, Mary continued to keep contact with us and never fail to send us a Christmas card every year. She is one kindly lady who is alway willing to help. On one occasion, when we had a friend and family migrating over from New Zealand asking for help to enroll their son in Mt. Waverley High School. The school head mistress was prepare accept my friend's son into the school provided they have a Mt. Waverley address. I asked Mary for help since she lived in Mt. Waverley. Without hesitation and without meeting my friend or his son, she agreed.
She came to Australia in 1959 with 5 children from England to start a new life. England was in recession after World War 2 and job was scare. She left her family so she could start a new life for her family. It was not an easy road but persistence, hard work and God's guidance she and her family today had a blessed life.
I guess as a migrant, she knew the hardship of settling in a new country away from the love one. She took us in and try to make our stay in this country as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Sadly Mary Morgan passed away last Sunday and today we attended the church service to celebrate Mary passing into a new life in Heaven with Jesus.
Mary, thanks for your love and care. We will always treasure this and remember you always. When our turn come we will be happy to see you welcoming us into a new home again.
Mary's favourite Bible verse:
Psalm 121 (NIV)
I lift up my eyes to the hills -
where does my help come from?
My help comes from tile LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip -
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you -
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day, I
nor the moon by night.
TIle LORD will keep you from all harm -
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Mary's favourite Hymn:
There is a Green Hill Far Away

Mary's favourite Hymn:
There is a Green Hill Far Away
There is a green hill far away,
Without a city wall,
Where our dear Lord was crucified
Who died to save us all
We may not know, we cannot tell,
What pains he had to bear,
But we believe it was for us
He hung and suffered there
He died that we might be forgiven,
He died to make us good,
That we might go at last to heaven,
Saved by His precious blood
There was no other good enough
To pay the price of Sin,
He only could unlock the gate
Of heaven and let us in
0 dearly, dearly has He loved!
And we must love him too,
And trust in his redeeming blood,
And try His works to do
