The Christmas 2007 Holidays

This Christmas holidays was a quiet and relaxing one. Most of the time we stayed at home or making short trips to the shopping malls or out exploring new eating places. The day after boxing day, we make a long trip up North to Mount Macedon just for my wife sake. She has not been there before.

After Mount Macedon we headed west to Darlysford and had lunch in this small country town.

The food was fresh and nice. After lunch we walked around the town and I chanced upon a second hand book shop. I love second hand bookshops. There are so many selection of books tand it sometime surprises you sometime what you can get. I found 2 music books at a bargain price.

After Darlysford, we headed for Heburn Spring. This place is famous for it mineral water spring. Though the creek ran dried because of the drought, the springs continue to have water flowing.

The council have installed spring loaded valves on some spring water outlets to stop water wastage and replace the old cast iron hand pumps with stainless steel hand pumps.

The stainless steel hand pumps did not blended with the surrounding garden and it stuck out like a sore thumb. Though it was a hot day, there were many people arriving and bottling the mineral water for drinking. We tried the water and the water tasted like frizzy soda water.
We, then, headed further west to Creswick. It is an old town with old building and the town was empty like a cowboy ghost town with old building lining the main street. After a quick look around, we headed for home via Ballarat.
