A Christmas With You

This morning as I drove to work, I can see some Christmas decorations lining up the streets. Decorations were also building up in shopping malls and a reminder Christmas is not too far away. I wonder what I will do for this Christmas.
John Lennon had written his Christmas Song "So this is Christmas", I thought I will also write my Christmas Song. So this popped up, "A Christmas with you". It was written in a rush, may need some refining and maybe a tune to it.

A Christmas with You

The years drifted by

Ever so quickly

It was like only yesterday

When I last saw your face

Each day passes by

Without missing you

Your smile, your sweetness, your love

A lingering memory

Streets and malls lined with decorations

Carols and jingles on the air waves for all

A reminder the festivities is near

Another year is just about to pass by

A Christmas with you

Is my Christmas wish

To share my love with you

Holding you close in my arm,

Whispering, I love you and

You will be with me forever

You let me go,

Though it broke your heart

Why I asked over and over again?

Is it because you love me so?

Time will tell

When we will be together again

Meanwhile let the love we had for each other

Burn brightly as ever

Streets and malls lined with decorations

Carols and jingles on the air waves for all

A reminder the festivities is near

Another year is just about to pass by

A Christmas with you

Is my Christmas wish

To share my love with you

Holding you close in my arm,

Whispering, I love you and

You will be with me forever

Up and Down

My job is a crazy job. Busy one minute and then quiet the next minute. It is like riding a roller coaster - up and down, except the ride on the roller coaster is much more fun.

I was working my butt off the last 2 months, then, last week and this week so quiet. I tell you so boring can die. I dare not blog during office hours. My Boss "buey tahan" people doing nothing, so every now and now will kepoh to find out what you are doing. So what to do? Pretend to be busy updating drawings, specification sheets and spreadsheet. He know I am free but you pretend you are busy, he is happy. Why don't he let me go home and do something useful? When there are work to do, call me back, lah. I happy, he happy. Good arrangement or not?

Note:
I cannot blog at home. Now the computer is fully occupied by 2 people (story to follow as soon I get my hand on the computer). I tell you so "sein" I might as well join the monastery and be a monk.

A Work of Art?

Everyday I passed this building and I often wonder if this is an office block or a big barn. I am sure I won't get the architect to design my dream house, it is not to my taste and it is definitely not a work of art.

Baptism Of Yeast

I was minding my own business driving to work this morning.
A tanker came pass me on my right side and he slammed his brake as the traffic slow down. Splash! and I suddenly see creamy liquid on my windscreen, blindly me temporary. Quickly I have the wipers on wiping this yucky stuff off the windscreen.

The driver took off turning left leaving me on my right lane. I was more shocked than angry. With a quick glance I managed to catch the company name on the tanker body.
As soon I arrived at the office, I searched for the company contact via the net. The car was completely covered with this creamy sour smelling stuff. I managed to contact a sweet girl and explaining the incident to her and asking her if the content of the tanker is corrosive. She asked for my contact number and would immediately get someone to call me back.

About 5 minutes the transport manager rang back. He told me the tanker was carrying yeast and though it is not corrosive, advised me I should clean the car immediately. He will immediately contact the driver to check the hatch on the tanker, suspecting it was not tightened properly.
My colleagues were having a field day laughing at my misfortune.
Having no choice, I drove to the car wash to give my car a wash in my office clothes. All I can say is "Thank God it is Friday".
Hmm, Do you think my car will "fatt" (expand a bit) and I will "fatt" (prosperous) by striking Tattslotto tomorrow? I tell you on Monday if I do, with a brand new computer. My nephew still "pah" the computer 24/7. Blahhh!

Kaffir Lime Anak

Out of the 4 seeds, 1 seed so far had germinated. What about the other 3 seeds? We are not sure if the others 3 seeds will germinate. Have to wait and see!

Living in the Toilet

This is one toilet I don't mind living in - one & only toilet house costing US$1.6 million.
Two bedrooms, two guestrooms and other rooms, the two-storey house - of course - features three deluxe toilets.
Hmm, I wonder whether if there is a special button in the house, where you can flush out your unwanted guests. It will be nice to have one. Hehehehehe.

10th of October

Two Birthdays that I know of, falls on this day.
One is my Dad's Birthday.

"Happy Birthday Dad!"

The other one is KC's Birthday.

"Happy Birthday KC!"

Ed's note:
It is strange after Dad passed away, I remember his birthday every year. But when he was around, it tends to slip my mind. I am a very, very bad, bad son. I guess absence make the heart fonder.

Kaffir Lime Update

This is a follow up on my last post on my Kaffir Lime tree.
Last Saturday, I was out in the backyard looking at the plants, I decided to closely inspect the Kaffir Lime Tree. There were new shoots out but the tree was not healthy as I like it to be.

I guess it was in slightly bad state because we were using recycle water from our washings to water it. Anyway to cut the story short, I decided to feed it with fertilizers so it will grow better and stronger. After doing that and a closer inspection, I found this.

Thirteen Tiny Fruits. I tell you this is lucky 13. I think, the tree thinks it is going to die and it decided to produce anak anak to carry on his legacy. Anyway that is my theory. Ha, ha, ha.

Kong Piah

I have lived half of my life in KL and travelled to Sitiawan a number of times. During these times I have not heard or eaten Kong Piah.
I learned of Kong Piah in one of my recent business trip back home. It was in one of a casual conversation with a young engineer, who hailed from Sitiawan. He was proudly selling his home town to me and I guess he thinks I am so "aussiefied" that I forgotten my roots.
Now I have heard and eaten Kiah Chai Peang from Kampar and Bidor, Heong Piah from Penang and Telok Anson, Siew Pow from Karak etc. but Kong Piah! This, off course, opened up a new world for me.
Upon questioning my close friends in KL, most of them have not heard of Kong Piah and it looks like it is only popular in Sitiawan. I came back home and ask David, who hails from Sitiawan, about this Kong Piah. He explained it to me and it is best eaten when it is freshly baked out of the oven. It is baked in an unique oven and different vendor have it unique flavour. I tried looking for a recipe in the net and David with his Foochow connection did not yield any result.
In the last trip back David made an effort to get his friend from Sitiawan, who was dropping in to meet him up in KL, to get some Kong Piah for him.

David bought it all the way back for me to see, feel and taste the Kong Piah. I asked you where can you get a better friend than David. Even though he went back to see his sick mother, he still think of his friends. The Kong Piah is sure one special thing. It not only satisfied my curiosity, it also satisfied my tummy. It tell of a great friendship every time I see a Kong Piah.
