Melbourne's hottest December day

The weekend was Melboune’s hottest December day in 53 years. It reached up to a whooping 42.1 degrees. Bush fire continue to blaze in the Gipplands area. The warm weather and strong wind continues to fan the fire across the highland. Wind shifts produce erratic fire behaviour burning up a total of 250,000 hectares.

Fire fighters as far as New Zealand were flown in to help to control the fire. The army send troop to provide logistic help to the weary firemen. This morning the fire broke through the containment lines, the fire fighters hope today cool change that is sweeping through as I write will help stop the fire from spreading.

Melbourne was covered in haze. I woke up to a hazy sky and acidric air on Saturday Morning. The smoke triggered off some homes with sensitive smoke alarm sending home owners into panic. It was so hot, we stayed indoor.

Sunday was no difference except it was hotter. Yes, we went to church and the attendance was down. After church, we went to the shops to get some essential stuffs, had a quick bite of fried Kueh Teow and Hay Mee at Nyonya Restaurant and headed for home. The house was hot and we had the air condition running at full blast and it just managed to cool the house at bearable temperature. If the outside temperature gets any hotter, I don’t the air condition is able to cope. It was so hot we skipped dinner and had fruit juice instead.

This morning we woke up with a dry bitter mouth. It is welcoming to have the cool change and it will be a short while only for the next 2 to 3 days. After which a hot change will come through.
