No Rain, No Water, No Holidays
We are in the middle of the drought season. Melbourne's Dam are 40% full. If there is no rain, we will go to stage 3 water rationing next year.
This Christmas we planned to go to Jindabyne up the Alpine country, between the border of Victoria and New South Wale State for the Christmas holidays. The house we will be staying in relied on rain water collected in large tanks for washing, cooking, bathing etc. Ho, Ho, Ho, there is no rain, there is no water and beside it is also very hot and dry. Too hot to be doing anything. Buying water to top up the tanks will be expensive as it is to be carted to the house by a large tanker. So the trip up there is cancel. Sob, sob, sob. There was no contingency plan, look like it will be Christmas at home swatting the flies. Hee, hee, hee.
The pictures you see is from last year trip. Maybe you can see why we were keen to go up there for the holidays again.
If there is a heavy downpour between now & the middle of next week, there is still hope. Come my fellow readers, let us pray for rain not just for our holidays so I can blog about it but also this country need rain to keep the farms, agriculture going and the dam full or else the country will be in strife.
